Glass works created after the turning point of freedom of political and economic situation in 1989. Professor Jaroslav Svoboda - founder and owner - has decided for creation of his own place after losing his creative facilities. Glass factory in Škrdlovice, in which Mr.Svoboda also worked, was returned to family of Beranek. Invaluable experience, family tradition of glass, his vitality and several associates from workshop in Škrdlovice - this all happened at the birth of his own glassworks Jaroslav Svoboda AGS, founded as soon as this form of business was possible in 1990. At first there was the glass-cutting work place with glass shop, 23 April 1993 was launched on two pans furnace.

Circumstances, but also Svoboda´s nature have made him to choose the hard journey, to built a glass factory on the greensward. The adaptation, the gradual expansion and building of canceled school in the area Karlov, a village lying on the road from Zdar nad Sazavou to Prague. That Karlov is now well known, as it has Škrdlovice, it is Svoboda's claim to fame. The company not result in speculation, the owner himself was not only able to work, but also worked on a joint work. He had to be asked about one kilometer gas pipeline, the operation had to be expanded and optimized, so in May 1995 began construction of a new hall with five pans furnace, where on 29 November 1995 began to melt glass. Cooperation with experienced glass masters such as Ladislav Kamarad, Miroslav Jun, Vaclav Krejci, Milan Nosek and Joseph Pospichal brought expected fruit.
